Amgen Expands Hyderabad Presence with New Research Centre
Amgen, a global biotechnology company, is expanding its presence in Hyderabad by setting up a new research and innovation centre. The centre will be part of Amgen's global R&D network of seven research laboratories and will focus on discovery chemistry, drug metabolism, and precision medicine.
The MoU for the project was signed between Amgen India and the state government in the presence of IT Minister D Sridhar Babu at the Secretariat. According to officials, the centre is expected to become operational by 2027 and will create employment opportunities for highly skilled professionals.
Minister Sridhar Babu expressed his support for the project, stating that it would add momentum to Hyderabad's emergence as a global hub for advanced life sciences research. He also requested Amgen to give priority to local youth and talent from Telangana while recruiting for the centre.
