Hearst Takes Full Control of A+E Global Media in $1.2 Billion Deal
Walt Disney has agreed to sell its 50 percent stake in A+E Global Media for $1.2 billion, ending a joint venture with Hearst that spanned decades.
The deal will bring Hearst full ownership of the media company behind popular brands such as A&E, History, and Lifetime.
According to the agreement, Paul Buccieri will continue to serve as president and chairman of A+E Global Media after the transaction closes in September.
Hearst's acquisition follows a strategic review launched in July 2025, when Disney and Hearst explored options for the broadcasting company.
