Heat and Storms Return to Walt Disney World
After a spell of near-perfect theme park weather, warmer temperatures and rising rain chances are set to return to Walt Disney World. The National Weather Service has warned that heat indices could reach as high as 103 degrees by Friday.
A high-pressure system building over the Florida peninsula is pushing moisture back into the area. As a result, rain chances will increase throughout the week.
Today's forecast shows a 20-50% chance of rain, with most showers and storms developing in the afternoon. By Thursday, this rises to a 40-60% chance of rain, while Friday sees an even higher 50-70% chance.
Afternoon highs are expected to reach the upper 80s to low 90s on both Thursday and Friday, with peak heat indices between 98 and 103 degrees. Overnight lows will remain warm and muggy in the low to mid 70s.
