Hi-C Ecto Cooler Returns, Sort Of, for Halloween 2026
Hi-C Ecto Cooler, a nostalgic favorite among Ghostbusters fans, is back for Halloween 2026, but only in a limited capacity. The drink's revival is exclusive to Coca-Cola Freestyle machines inside the World of Coca-Cola in Atlanta, and it looks different from its original green form.
First introduced as Citrus Cooler in 1989, Hi-C Ecto Cooler was rebranded to promote The Real Ghostbusters cartoon spinoff. Although it lasted longer than the show itself, the drink eventually underwent several name changes, Shoutin' Orange Tangergreen and Crazy Citrus Cooler among them, before being discontinued.
Hi-C revived the flavor in 2016 for the Ghostbusters reboot, but its return was short-lived. The drink made a brief comeback again in 2021 as an in-person giveaway at the premiere of Ghostbusters: Afterlife. Now, fans can try it on Coca-Cola Freestyle machines, although they won't see the classic green color.
Despite the new look, fans praise the flavor for being dead-on liquid nostalgia. With its limited release and unique appearance, this revival is sure to spark interest among Ghostbusters enthusiasts and nostalgic consumers alike.
