Microsoft's AI push is accelerating inside a huge, diversified business, which can hide where the real pressure points sit. The appeal is a very profitable, diversified business using its size and cash generation to build out AI capacity at scale, but open questions around long-term margins, regulation, and hardware dependence are what make the next chapter for Microsoft worth watching closely.

Its strongest link to the AI theme is Baidu's ERNIE large language models and ERNIE Bot, which feed into AI Cloud services, DuerOS assistants, AI chips, and AI-powered digital humans.
Alphabet (GOOGL) is the company behind Google Search, YouTube, Android, and a fast-growing Google Cloud platform that now sells AI infrastructure, Vertex AI, and Gemini enterprise tools to businesses worldwide. Most of its US$445.6b in revenue comes from Google Services at about US$367.1b, with Google Cloud contributing around US$77.6b and Other Bets just over US$1.5b.
