Hims & Hers Stock Drops Amid Menopause Care Expansion and Amazon GLP-1 Program Concerns
Hims & Hers Health (HIMS) launched estrogen patches for menopause and perimenopause care, but its stock price dropped nearly 5% on Wednesday. The move comes as a surge in demand for hormone therapy has led to an acute shortage of estrogen patches in the U.S.
Rising U.S. demand for hormone therapy strains supplies of estrogen patches. BofA raised HIMS' price target to $30 but maintained caution over revenue strain due to Amazon's GLP-1 program. Shares of Hims & Hers Health have dropped near 12% year-to-date.
Citi noted that Amazon's new low-cost GLP-1 renewal option has limitations, which could reduce the revenue risk to HIMS' subscription-based model. However, analysts at BofA anticipate prolonged revenue constraints for HIMS due to Amazon's program. Eleven out of 15 analysts had a 'hold' rating on the stock and three with a 'buy' rating.
