Home Depot Attack Leaves 78-Year-Old Man Severely Injured
A shocking incident occurred at a Home Depot store in Hutto, Texas, leaving a 78-year-old man with severe injuries. Manuel Vera was attacked by a stranger wielding an axe on August 14th around 5 p.m.
Vera's son, Larry Hopper, described the scene as 'shocking' and stated that his father suffered multiple injuries, including a skull fracture, wounds to his head and arms, a broken arm, and a broken finger.
The attacker, identified as 41-year-old John Doyle Bauer, fled the area but was later apprehended by police about 3.5 miles north of the store. Bauer faces an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge and is being held in jail.
Hopper expressed his concerns about his father's long road to recovery, both physically and mentally, and hopes that the perpetrator will face serious consequences.
