Home Depot is taking its artificial intelligence-powered shopping assistant to the next level by expanding the capabilities of its 'Magic Apron' tool. The company, which operates a total of 2,364 retail stores and over 1,340 SRS locations across the US, Canada, Mexico, and other territories, has been rolling out new in-store features for Magic Apron.

The new features allow customers to get expert guidance on products, ask questions through various means, and find what they need quickly. For example, a customer can take a picture of a bag of grass seed and ask what fertilizer is needed for their climate or find out what supplies are needed to patch and paint a drywall repair.

Magic Apron was first launched in 2025, but the new features build upon the company's Store Mode feature, which was originally launched in 2022. According to Jordan Broggi, executive VP of interconnected retail, 'Customers come to The Home Depot for expert guidance, and we know they want their shopping experience to be easy and efficient.'
