Home Depot, Boys & Girls Clubs Launch Initiative to Boost Skilled Trades Exploration
The Home Depot and Boys & Girls Clubs of America have launched Path to Pro Skills Explorers, an initiative aimed at expanding young people's access to hands-on skilled trades exploration. The program is a collaboration between The Home Depot Foundation, Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta, Scouting America, and other organizations. Jenni Girtman from the Boys & Girls Clubs of America said the launch was held on September 17, 2026.
The initiative will provide young people with opportunities to explore various skilled trades, including those in construction, electrical work, plumbing, and carpentry. The goal is to encourage more youth to consider careers in these fields, which are often underserved by new entrants. By providing hands-on experiences and mentorship, the program aims to bridge the gap between education and employment.
The Path to Pro Skills Explorers initiative will be implemented at various Boys & Girls Clubs locations across the country, with The Home Depot Foundation providing funding support. This partnership is expected to have a positive impact on the lives of young people and help address the skilled trades shortage in the US.
