Home Depot Coming to Route 113 in Millsboro
The Home Depot is expanding its presence in Millsboro, Delaware, with plans to open a new location on Route 113 in June 2028. The store will be situated just south of Arby's and will span over 136,000 square feet, including a main building and garden center, after an 11-month construction project.
The property, currently known as Clayton Homes, is located at 28679 E. Dupont Boulevard (Tax Map IDs 233-5.00-10.03 and -10.04). The store's development aligns with the Millsboro Comprehensive Plan's vision of big-box stores and highway commercial development.
Developers' attorney David Hutt from Morris James LLP noted that The Home Depot would be located across the highway from Lowe's Home Improvement, BJ's Wholesale Club, Aldi, PetSmart, and other businesses. In July, the Millsboro Board of Adjustment granted several zoning variances for landscaping buffers, tree positioning, signage, parking, and more.
The developer team addressed traffic concerns by discussing the addition of turn lanes, repaving, and paid improvements to the Route 113 intersection. Entrances will be along the highway and the intersecting side road, with no entrance on Mitchell Street.
