Home Depot Employee Arrested for Stealing Over $700 from Shorewood Store

A 52-year-old Plainfield resident was arrested on July 28 for allegedly stealing over $700 worth of items from the Home Depot store in Shorewood, Illinois.

The incident occurred at around 5 p.m. when police officers were dispatched to the store after receiving a report of retail theft.

According to the arrest summary, Home Depot manager reported that an employee had been observed concealing unpaid items on multiple occasions.

Koelbl admitted to stealing the items and was subsequently arrested by Shorewood police. He was released and given a notice to appear at the Will County Courthouse.
