Home Depot has expanded its AI-powered product and project assistance tool, Magic Apron, to its store aisles. The tool was initially available as a website feature but now includes a store context layer that provides tailored inventory and product answers based on the specific location.

'The nature of your questions and the help we can give you is better if we understand which store you're in,' said Jordan Broggi, EVP Customer Experience and President Online. 'Well, let's talk about the inventory that's in the store first.'

Magic Apron has seen significant growth, with millions of questions received per month. Home Depot also confirmed a planned app refresh for the back half of 2026.

Alongside the consumer-facing Magic Apron disclosure, Home Depot announced the deployment of AI technology for professional customers. The Material List Builder is an AI-powered tool that allows professionals to build material lists and purchase materials through Home Depot's digital properties more efficiently.
