The Home Depot has found its new home in California, Maryland, after St. John Properties Inc. announced the sale of a 13.52-acre parcel to the retail giant.

Lexington Exchange, a 140-acre mixed-use business community in St. Mary's County, will welcome The Home Depot as it opens its first location in Southern Maryland.

The retailer joins an expanding lineup of businesses at Lexington Exchange, which includes grocery store ALDI, convenience store Royal Farms, Chipotle Mexican Grill, and RC Theatres.

According to St. John Properties' regional partner for Southern Maryland, Andrew Roud, 'The Home Depot is one of the nation's most respected and recognizable retail brands, and we are proud that it has selected Lexington Exchange for its first Southern Maryland location.'

The arrival of The Home Depot will bring an influx of new jobs to the area, creating a direct and lasting economic impact on St. Mary's County.
