P&G Acquires Thorne in Bid to Expand Wellness Portfolio
Thorne, a leader in science-backed health and wellness solutions, has entered into a definitive agreement to be acquired by Procter & Gamble (NYSE: PG). The acquisition is expected to close later this year, subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals. Thorne was founded in 1984 and has been a trusted partner to healthcare practitioners, serving consumers, athletes, and professionals through rigorous science, world-class manufacturing, and uncompromising quality.
According to Colin Watts, CEO of Thorne, the company will continue advancing its mission to become the world's most trusted personalized health brand. 'For more than 40 years, Thorne has earned the trust of healthcare practitioners, consumers, and partners by putting science, quality, and the people we serve at the center of every decision,' Watts said.
The acquisition positions Thorne to expand its impact while staying true to its values and standards. P&G will acquire Thorne from L Catterton's Flagship Fund, with Perella Weinberg serving as the lead financial advisor to Thorne.
