Home Depot Gains Market Share Amid Macro Challenges
Home Depot's executives spoke at Goldman Sachs' Consumer and Retail Conference on Tuesday. Despite macroeconomic challenges, they said their company is gaining share in the market.
The home improvement chain reported strong second-quarter results, with 13 of its 16 merchandising categories posting positive comparable sales. This includes core home-improvement categories like plumbing, electrical, hardware, and tools, which showed broad-based demand both online and in stores.
The company's long-term investments in delivery and supply chain are paying off, executives said. As a result, 65% of parcel shipments go out same-day or next-day, while 55% of big and bulky items are delivered within two days.
