Home Depot Joins Forces with Pat McAfee's GameDay Kicking Contest
Pat McAfee's GameDay tradition is back for its fourth year, and this time it's bigger than ever. The former NFL punter has hosted his first kicking contest of the season at Louisiana State University (LSU), where he revealed that Home Depot will match any amount he puts up for the rest of the season.
In a surprise move, McAfee put up $500,000 of his own money, and pledged that Home Depot would match it to offer a fan a chance to kick a field goal from 33 yards. The lucky contestant, Bruce, was offered a $1 million kick but unfortunately missed both attempts.
This is the first time McAfee has had a company backing him for his GameDay tradition. Over the past three years, he has given out over $6 million of his own money in prizes and charity donations.
