Home Depot, Lowe's Ladder Recall Affects Over 1 Million Units

More than 1 million attic ladders have been recalled by Louisville Ladder Inc. due to reports of broken bolts and falls. The recall affects over 1.7 million ladders sold at Home Depot, Lowe's, Do It Best, Orgill, Amazon, and other retailers nationwide between November 2012 and July 2026.

The affected ladders are sold under the Louisville, Featherlite, Lite, and Century brand names and feature an aluminum or wood frame with gas struts and handrails. They were priced between $170 and $600.

Louisville Ladder warned that the bolts on these ladders can break, causing injuries or even fatalities. There have been 11 reported incidents of broken bolts, including one case where a person was injured in the neck, head, and back.
