Home Depot Roars Back with Strong Fiscal Second Quarter Results
The Home Depot's fiscal second quarter financial results have beaten Wall Street's expectations. For the period ended August 2, the company posted an adjusted EPS of $4.92 (GAAP EPS: $4.79) on revenue of $47.861 billion.
This represents year-over-year growth of 5.7% and a comp sales increase of 1.7% since 2022. CFO Richard MacPhail commented that the company saw 'broad based demand across the business' and attributed the success to customers engaging in smaller projects.
The balance sheet has improved, with cash flows increasing and debt decreasing. The firm has used its free cash flow to pay down some debt and invest in its business. With a current ratio of 1.08 and total liabilities less equity at $92.767 billion, the company's financials are stabilizing.
