Home Depot Rolls Out Nationwide Express Delivery Service
The Home Depot has expanded its express delivery service nationwide, using over 2,300 stores as local fulfillment centers. This move allows professional contractors and DIY customers to receive nearly every item in three hours or less for a small flat fee, with no subscription or membership required.
Express delivery was previously available in select markets, but the company has now made it a nationwide service. According to Jordan Broggi, executive vice president of customer experience and president of online, 'The majority of those deliveries are actually happening in less than one hour.'
The service is designed to meet customer expectations for fast and reliable delivery. As part of this expansion, Home Depot has reduced its delivery lead times by 45% over the last 18 months. Two-thirds of in-stock parcel orders arrive same-day or next-day, and 55% of big-and-bulky items arrive within two days.
Free same-day delivery is available for orders of $25 or more made before 4 p.m. The company also stocks a select assortment of appliances that can reach customers the next day in many markets.
