Tavistock Development Co. is pushing forward with plans to bring a Home Depot store to Lake Nona West, a major retail center in Central Florida. According to documents filed with the city, the shopping center will be expanded to accommodate a big-box retailer on 15.6 acres of vacant land just east of the recently opened lifestyle center.

The proposed store would be approximately 140,000 square feet and feature 570 parking spaces. While the application specifies that the project would be a hardware store, the site plan does not delineate between indoor space and an outdoor garden center.

Home Depot has been expanding rapidly in Central Florida, with three new stores currently in development. In addition to the Lake Nona West location, Polk County has approved plans for a new Home Depot on U.S. 27 in Davenport, and another is proposed for Horizon West on Schofield Road.
