Home Depot Sales Boosted by Smaller Projects Amid US Housing Slump
Home Depot's sales saw an improvement during its fiscal second quarter as customers shifted their focus towards smaller projects amidst the ongoing US housing sector slump.
The company reported revenue of $47.86 billion, surpassing Wall Street's expectation of $47.24 billion, according to a FactSet survey.
Comparable store sales rose 1.3% in the US and 1.7% globally, indicating a positive trend for the retailer.
The company's Chief Financial Officer, Richard McPhail, stated that 'we saw broad based demand across the business as customers continued to engage in smaller projects.'
Despite this, Home Depot stuck with its previous sales growth guidance of 2.5-4.5% for fiscal 2026 and kept its expectations for comparable sales flat to up 2% unchanged.
