Home Depot Sees Increased Institutional Interest Amid Turnaround Efforts

Varma Mutual Pension Insurance Co has taken a significant position in Home Depot Inc., purchasing 173,295 shares valued at approximately $61.118 million during the second quarter, according to its latest disclosure with the Securities & Exchange Commission.

The company's new stake brings it among other large investors who have recently bought and sold shares of HD. Gator Capital Management LLC acquired a new position in Home Depot in the fourth quarter valued at about $3.693 million.

Home Depot reported fiscal second-quarter sales of $47.86 billion, up 5.7% year over year, its strongest comparable-sales growth since 2022. The company's adjusted earnings of $4.92 per share exceeded analyst consensus estimates of $4.73.
