Home Depot shoppers have been sharing their finds on social media platforms like TikTok, where users document how they score items for just one penny. A couple from Arkansas, Jacob and Ava (@burkhead_farm), recently shared their method for finding these discounted items at Home Depot.

The couple's video features them standing inside a Home Depot store, explaining that they follow a Facebook page called 'Home Depot Penny Items.' They use the app to scan items on the shelves, which often show as 'out of stock' but may actually be available for just one penny. According to Home Depot policy, employees are required to sell these items at their marked-down price.

Jacob and Ava demonstrated how they found a batch of tile that cost 88 cents after taxes. They went back in and purchased more tile, spending only 44 cents on the second trip. Many viewers who tried this method had varied results, with some being refused by employees while others successfully scored penny items.

Home Depot's policy on penny items is not a store-promoted deal, but rather discontinued merchandise intended to be removed from shelves. Heavily marked-down prices are used to track inventory and notify employees which items need to be taken down. Due to human error, some items may remain on the shelves.

It appears that each Home Depot store has its own policies regarding penny items, leaving it up to employees whether or not they decide to honor them.
