Home Depot Steps In to Aid Wren Kitchens Customers After Bankruptcy
Home Depot has stepped in to assist customers affected by Wren Kitchens' sudden bankruptcy filing on April 24. Wren operated multiple showrooms within Home Depot locations across Connecticut, including Stamford, Norwalk, and Fairfield. The bankruptcy left many customers in difficult situations, with some facing incomplete kitchen projects or unfulfilled orders.
Attorney General William Tong acknowledged the challenges faced by Connecticut families, noting that dozens of customers were left with demolished kitchens and undelivered products. He expressed gratitude to Home Depot for providing $1.2 million in assistance to 286 affected customers. The company will continue offering help through October 31, with customers able to request assistance via email.
Home Depot's support has taken various forms, including helping customers file disputes with credit card companies, resulting in $303,000 in chargebacks. The company also provided $932,000 in payments to cover unfulfilled Wren purchases, either through gift cards or checks. Additionally, Home Depot is offering discounts and financing options across all stores that previously hosted Wren showrooms.
