Home Depot Surpasses Expectations with Strong Q2 Earnings
Home Depot reported its second-quarter earnings on Thursday, surpassing analyst expectations. The company's net sales reached $47.86 billion, a 5.7% increase from last year.
This is the strongest comparable sales figure since the third quarter of fiscal 2022, according to CFO Richard McPhail. Home Depot still expects full-year sales growth of 2.5% to 4.5%, with comparable sales flat to up 2%. The company also maintained its gross margin at roughly 33.1% and adjusted operating margin at 12.8% to 13.0%.
Home Depot's stock rose 2.40% premarket after the announcement, suggesting that investors are optimistic about the company's performance. However, no details were provided on how the company plans to achieve its full-year sales growth target, which may be a point of concern for some analysts.
