Home Depot Teams Up with Boys & Girls Clubs to Launch Skilled Trades Training Program
Boys & Girls Clubs of America and The Home Depot have launched a new initiative called Path to Pro Skills Explorers, aimed at introducing young people aged 11-17 to skilled-trades careers. On September 17, 2026, leaders from both organizations, along with other partners, joined Club and Scout youth at the John H. Harland Boys & Girls Club in Atlanta for the launch event.
The Path to Pro Skills Explorers program is a hands-on resource that provides young people with opportunities to explore various skilled-trades careers, such as construction and trade jobs. According to Jenni Girtman from Boys & Girls Clubs of America, this initiative will help address the workforce needs of the future by introducing youth to in-demand trades.
The event was attended by notable figures, including Kevin O'Connor, host of 'This Old House', and Bill Rogers, CEO of Truist. The launch marks a significant step towards providing young people with access to skilled-trades education and training, ultimately preparing them for future careers.
