Home Depot Theft Suspects Sought by Champaign County Crime Stoppers
Champaign County Crime Stoppers is seeking help in identifying suspects involved in recent retail thefts at Home Depot. On August 8, 2026, an unknown male entered the store at 820 Bloomington Road in Champaign and stole over $1300 worth of DeWalt tools and batteries. The thief concealed the items in a bag and fled on his scooter without making any attempt to pay.
The incident is one of several similar thefts that have occurred at this location, involving the same suspects. In previous cases, DeWalt and Milwaukee tools and accessories were removed from their boxes and hidden in bags and buckets. No payments were made prior to exiting the store.
Police are asking for the public's assistance in identifying the male suspects captured on video during these thefts. The suspects were described as younger black males with medium-length dreadlocks.
