The Home Depot has rolled out its AI shopping assistant, Magic Apron, to over 2,000 U.S. stores. The tool allows customers to ask questions and receive personalized help while browsing the aisles.

Magic Apron can be accessed through the Home Depot app's Store Mode or by scanning a QR code posted in-store. Customers can type, speak, or take a photo of an item to ask for assistance.

The AI assistant can provide answers to specific questions, such as what fertilizer suits a customer's local climate based on a photo of grass seed. It will also direct customers to the exact aisle and bay where the product is located and inform them if it's in stock or available at a nearby store.

Home Depot claims Magic Apron has already handled millions of questions per month, with early testers reporting faster shopping times and increased confidence in their purchases.
