Home Depot's next earnings report is set for August 18, 2026. The company has been trading sideways this year, up just over 3% year-to-date, despite beating expectations last quarter on both revenue and earnings.

The results showed that Home Depot reported nearly $41.8 billion in revenue and earnings of $3.43 per share. However, same-store sales were up just 0.6%, while earnings were down by around 3.7% compared to the prior year's quarter.

This lackluster performance has led some analysts to caution against buying Home Depot stock before the next earnings report. According to The Motley Fool, it will likely take upward guidance revisions to drive increased investor excitement for Home Depot shares.

Currently, the stock is trading at around 24 times forward earnings, which may be considered expensive by some investors. However, Home Depot could come back in a big way once the housing market recovers.
