Honeywell Lands $25.6M Contract for Nuclear-Hardened Navigation System

The US Air Force Research Laboratory has awarded Honeywell Aerospace a significant contract to further develop a cutting-edge navigation system.

The compact, radiation-hardened strategic-grade gyroscope is designed to withstand nuclear environments and provide GPS-denied navigation for various applications, including missiles, satellites, ships, and aircraft.

This latest award totals US$25.6 million and follows an initial contract in 2020 worth US$41.6 million to design the Compact Strategic-Grade Gyroscope.

The work on this project will be carried out in Clearwater, Florida, and is expected to conclude by July 2029.
