Honeywell Secures $300m Deal for Dangote's Kenya Refinery
Honeywell Technologies has secured a $300 million deal to provide technology, engineering services, and equipment for Dangote's planned $16 billion refinery in Kenya. The project is expected to become the world's largest single-train refinery when completed.
The agreement mirrors Honeywell's role at Dangote's Nigerian refinery, where its technology and engineering solutions are being used to upgrade the plant's capacity to 1.4 million barrels per day. The companies said the Kenya project will reuse proven engineering designs developed for the Lekki refinery, helping Dangote cut the development schedule by nearly two years.
The Lamu refinery is expected to produce gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, and polypropylene, with the ability to process a broad range of crude grades from light to heavy. The flexibility is intended to allow the facility to source crude from multiple regions rather than depend on a single supply market.
