Honeywell Sues Electric Vehicle Makers Rivian and Lucid for Patent Infringement
Honeywell Aerospace has filed patent infringement lawsuits against electric vehicle manufacturers Rivian and Lucid in separate cases.
The suits were filed less than three months after Honeywell International's subsidiary became an independent public company on June 29, listed on Nasdaq under the symbol HONA.
In the case against Rivian, Honeywell alleges that seven patents for aircraft technology also apply to land vehicles and are being infringed upon by Rivian's electric vehicles. The patents cover various safety features such as vehicle monitoring systems and autonomous navigation.
Honeywell is seeking damages, an injunction, and reimbursement of attorneys' fees in both cases.
