Hotels Set for Global Rate Hikes in 2027 Amid Ongoing Conflict and Inflation
Hotels are set to raise their rates globally in 2027 according to a recent forecast from American Express Global Business Travel's Hotel Monitor 2027.
The report predicts higher rates across major business travel markets, driven by strong corporate and meetings demand in the Americas and Europe as well as continued inflation. Rate increases are expected to be more moderate in Asia-Pacific while ongoing conflict in the Middle East is affecting demand in Gulf destinations.
For the first time, Amex GBT has presented its hotel rate forecasts as ranges rather than single figures due to geopolitical uncertainty and volatility in commodity prices. The company notes that these forecasts are subject to change depending on factors such as inflation rates and the resolution of the Middle East conflict.
