House Passes Bipartisan Bill to Boost Arizona Water Infrastructure
The House of Representatives has passed the bipartisan Water Resources Development Act of 2026, which aims to advance water infrastructure and address flood protection and drought preparedness in southern Arizona communities.
U.S. Rep. Juan Ciscomani (R-AZ) worked to include provisions that will strengthen the infrastructure families rely on in his district, safeguard Pinal County from devastating floods, invest in Tucson's water future, and deliver resources for rural communities.
The bill would authorize various water resources feasibility studies and projects of the Army Corps of Engineers, including studies or projects to maintain ports and harbors, reduce flood and storm damage, restore aquatic ecosystems, protect shorelines, and address harmful algal blooms.
