Huang Defends Use of Chinese AI Models by US Companies
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang expressed his views on the use of Chinese AI models by US companies during an interview with Axios. He said that American businesses should 'absolutely' utilize these open-source AI models, downplaying concerns about intellectual property theft and AI distillation.
Huang dismissed the idea of a race between the US and China in the AI sector, stating that it's not a competition with a specific endpoint. Instead, he emphasized that both countries will continue to use AI for their own purposes.
He also voiced his opposition to banning or restricting access to AI models from both the US and China, calling for Anthropic's Claude Mythos to be made available to everyone as a service. Huang argued that holding back this technology is not in the US' interest and could make the world more vulnerable to attacks.
