DeepSeek and Huawei have joined forces to create an alternative to Nvidia's ecosystem by open-sourcing software infrastructure for the Huawei Ascend platform. This collaboration aims to make AI chips easier to program, with a focus on advancing software for Chinese AI processors.

The software stack includes libraries for computation and data transfer, developed in partnership with Huawei. The two companies have also jointly created a solution using 128 Ascend 950 chips, optimized for computation and data exchange between them.

TileLang, an open-source programming language for AI chips, is being used to speed up development and simplify code logic. DeepSeek views this as a crucial step in creating a new generation of independent GPU software ecosystems.
