Hyderabad Surpasses Target in GCC Expansion, Telangana Chief Minister Reveals
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy announced that Hyderabad is experiencing rapid growth in its GCC expansion, surpassing its target of attracting 100 new Global Capability Centres this year. In a social media post, he credited 'purposeful governance and decisive execution' by his government for the transformation.
The state has seen major companies like Netflix, Warner Bros. Discovery, L’Oréal, Amgen, Eli Lilly, and Unilever establish operational bases in Hyderabad over the past two years. The Telangana government set a goal of setting up 100 new GCCs this year, and according to Revanth Reddy, they are 'significantly ahead of schedule'.
The state is positioning Hyderabad as a major GCC destination, particularly in technology, life sciences, healthcare, entertainment, and other knowledge-intensive sectors. The government has also been working on policies to expand GCC activity beyond the city's core urban region, with plans for a dedicated GCC zone at Bharat Future City focused on global innovation centres in the biosciences sector.
