IBM and Sarvam Team Up for Sovereign AI in India

IBM and Sarvam AI have formed a partnership to bring sovereign AI to mission-critical systems in India. The joint effort combines IBM's sovereign core infrastructure with Sarvam's Sovereign AI stack, enabling governments and regulated enterprises to build and deploy AI securely within their existing environments.

The partnership aims to help organisations move AI from experimentation to production, meeting the data residency and governance requirements of India's public sector. With this collaboration, citizen services can be delivered at population scale, with citizens served in their own language, including by voice.

For enterprises, the combination provides a way to bring AI capabilities into existing systems and workflows, spanning document processing and administrative work. The partnership powers use cases across citizen services and enterprise workflows, addressing the need for AI that runs securely within infrastructure controlled by governments and regulated enterprises.
