IBM and THG Partner to Bring Decentralized Identities to AI Agents

The Hashgraph Group has expanded its partnership with IBM by listing its Hedera-based IDTrust identity platform on IBM Cloud Catalog. This move allows enterprise customers to deploy verifiable identities for AI agents, a growing need as task-specific AI agents are expected to appear in 40% of enterprise applications by the end of 2026.

IDTrust issues decentralized identifiers and verifiable credentials for humans, devices, and autonomous AI agents securely. The platform uses W3C Verifiable Credentials and decentralized identifier standards to assign unique digital identities to each actor, which can be approved by humans and revoked through its management tools.

The partnership between IBM and THG extends beyond the catalog listing as they have signed a global Embedded Solution Agreement covering cloud and AI technology. This allows THG to incorporate IBM technology into products sold under its own offering.
