IBM Bolsters Defence Capabilities with Acquisition of Logiq Consulting
IBM has strengthened its position in the defence and public sector market by acquiring Bristol-HQ MSP and cyber consultancy Logiq Consulting. The deal adds expertise in regulated industries to IBM's portfolio, allowing it to advance its hybrid cloud, AI, and digital sovereignty plans.
The acquisition marks IBM's third completed deal of 2026 as the technology giant continues to invest in capabilities spanning AI, cybersecurity, and quantum technologies. Logiq specialises in serving highly regulated sectors, including the UK defence industry, critical national infrastructure, and the wider public sector.
Logiq developed DISX, a managed collaboration service for organisations working with UK defence and government bodies, as part of its focus on Secured by Design principles. The platform allows suppliers to securely exchange sensitive information while keeping control over where and how that information is managed.
