IBM Bolsters Digital Banking Infrastructure with Swift Integration
IBM has strengthened its position in digital banking infrastructure by integrating its Digital Asset Haven clients with Swift's blockchain-based shared ledger. This integration enables financial institutions and other regulated organizations to have greater control over their digital asset operations.
The beta offering allows IBM Digital Asset Haven's ISO 20022 Messaging Adapter to process tokenized deposit transactions using standard ISO 20022 messages, helping banks use existing payment formats and compliance processes while connecting to permissioned blockchain networks.
IBM's on-premises deployment, available on IBM Z and IBM LinuxONE, gives clients the ability to manage digital assets within their own data centers with greater security and control. This includes hardware-backed protection through IBM Crypto Express HSMs, confidential computing, secure environment partitioning, structured key ceremonies, and cold-storage capabilities.
Microsoft and Alphabet are also advancing in digital banking, with Microsoft expanding its efforts by helping financial institutions modernize core banking, payments, and customer experiences through Azure and artificial intelligence. Alphabet is bringing its AI and cloud technologies deeper into the banking sector through Google Cloud.
