IBM Bolsters Digital Banking Infrastructure with Swift Integration and On-Premises Deployment
IBM has announced two significant advancements in its digital banking infrastructure, aimed at helping financial institutions securely and efficiently manage digital assets.
The company's Digital Asset Haven platform now allows clients to connect with Swift's blockchain-based shared ledger for tokenized deposit transactions. This enables banks to instruct tokenized deposits using standard ISO 20022 messages through the shared ledger infrastructure, streamlining cross-border payments.
The partnership between IBM and Swift is a result of months-long collaboration with over 40 financial institutions worldwide. The first movers in this program have successfully tested tokenized deposits on the Swift shared ledger with IBM Digital Asset Haven, demonstrating how banks can use existing standards and compliance processes to explore new models for moving money digitally.
IBM has also extended its Digital Asset Haven platform to an on-premises beta deployment option. This allows institutions to manage digital assets entirely within their own data centers, giving them greater control over their technology stack. The on-premises deployment is designed to provide enterprise-grade security and scalability for digital asset operations.
