IBM Bolsters Digital Banking with Swift Blockchain Integration
IBM has strengthened its position in digital banking infrastructure by integrating its IBM Digital Asset Haven clients with Swift's blockchain-based shared ledger. This on-premises beta deployment gives financial institutions and regulated organizations more control over their digital asset operations.
The company's solution, called the ISO 20022 Messaging Adapter, allows banks to process tokenized deposit transactions using standard ISO 20022 messages. By integrating with Swift's shared ledger, IBM enables institutions to support tokenized deposits and move digital assets 24/7 before final settlement.
IBM's on-premises deployment is available on IBM Z and IBM LinuxONE platforms, providing clients with greater security and control over their digital assets. This includes hardware-backed protection through IBM Crypto Express HSMs, confidential computing, secure environment partitioning, structured key ceremonies, and cold-storage capabilities.
