IBM Bolsters Security Consulting with Logiq Consulting Acquisition
IBM has bolstered its security consulting capabilities by acquiring UK-based Logiq Consulting. The deal will add depth to IBM's services in securing hybrid cloud, artificial intelligence (AI), and sovereignty for public sector customers.
The acquisition follows IBM's purchase of SixWorks in July 2024, which also focused on defence and public sector customers. Logiq Consulting has established itself as a trusted provider in the UK public sector, with its own managed collaboration platform, DISX, enabling secure information exchange between government suppliers and public sector customers.
Rhodri Arrowsmith, managing partner for IBM Consulting in the UK and Ireland, noted that cyber security, governance, and resilience are critical as organisations accelerate their transformation and adopt AI at scale. He said Logiq Consulting's expertise complements IBM's existing capabilities and will enable clients to transform with confidence.
The acquisition marks another move by IBM to bolster its services for public sector customers in the UK, following established approaches in the US. The deal also highlights the importance of securing hybrid cloud, AI, and sovereignty for critical systems and services that underpin modern society.
