IBM boosts AI and quantum research in India with new partnerships
IBM is strengthening its research ties in India through new partnerships with the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc). The collaborations will center on four key areas: agentic AI, sovereign AI, AI infrastructure, and quantum-HPC workflows.
Agentic AI refers to AI systems that operate autonomously to achieve specific goals, while sovereign AI emphasizes AI solutions tailored to national or regional needs. The focus on AI infrastructure suggests efforts to build robust systems supporting advanced AI applications.
Quantum-HPC workflows indicate a push to integrate high-performance computing with quantum computing, a field where IBM has been a prominent player. These partnerships aim to advance both theoretical research and practical applications in these cutting-edge technologies.
