IBM Buys Logiq for Sovereign Cybersecurity Expertise

IBM has acquired UK-based cybersecurity consultancy Logiq Consulting for undisclosed financial terms. The deal was announced on September 24, 2026, and adds security assurance, Secure by Design, secure systems engineering, and managed services to IBM Consulting.

The purchase brings over 235 employees from Logiq, which specializes in security decisions made while systems are designed and delivered. This includes assurance that controls meet a programme's requirements, Secure by Design that brings security into architecture and operation choices from the outset, and secure systems engineering that carries those choices into implementation.

Logiq also brings its DISX secure collaboration portfolio, which is a Microsoft 365-based managed environment for organizations working with UK Defence. The service operates controls around a collaboration environment after deployment and includes controlled access, information-sharing paths, monitoring, configuration management, and records to support assurance.
