IBM Connects Digital Asset Haven to SWIFT Ledger
IBM has linked its Digital Asset Haven to SWIFT's shared ledger for tokenized deposits, providing a beta connection that allows participating institutions to instruct ledger transactions through standard payment messages.
The adapter, which maps ISO 20022 payment instructions to transactions on SWIFT's permissioned ledger, lets institutions use the payment messages they already exchange to test transfers of bank-issued tokenized deposits. This is made possible by IBM's Digital Asset Haven platform, which brings together wallets, key management, transaction signing and policy controls for regulated organizations.
The beta connection has been welcomed by SWIFT, whose ledger was deemed ready for initial use in July. 17 banks have already begun piloting live tokenized-deposit transactions as part of a controlled rollout.
IBM has also announced an on-premises beta for institutions that want to run Haven in their own data centers. This option allows regulated institutions to maintain direct control over the infrastructure used for custody and transaction management while evaluating digital-asset services.
