IBM Consulting Joins GSMA Open Gateway Initiative for Simplified Service Delivery
IBM Consulting has joined the GSMA Open Gateway initiative to help developers and cloud providers enhance and deploy services more quickly via single points of access to operator networks.
The GSMA Open Gateway is a channel partner programme supported by over 70 businesses, aiming to simplify service delivery and enable faster time to market through federated access to global network capabilities.
IBM Consulting's participation in the initiative will help with initial discovery and use-case definition, solution architecture, systems integration, and managed services.
The GSMA sees this as a paradigm shift in the way the telecoms industry designs and delivers services in an increasingly API-based world.
According to Henry Calvert, head of networks at GSMA, 'industry channel partners can play a vital role in helping enterprises access trusted, real-time mobile network insights using network APIs.'
