The Walt Disney Company and ABC have filed a lawsuit against the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in Washington, D.C., alleging that the agency's request for early license renewal violates their First Amendment rights.

According to the complaint, the FCC had not requested an early license renewal in over 50 years. The ABC licenses were originally scheduled for renewal between 2028 and 2031.

The lawsuit claims that the agency's actions are intended to punish ABC for 'content and viewpoints the Administration dislikes.'
