IBM Expands AI Platform to Secure Environments Amid Share Price Concerns
IBM has expanded its AI development platform, IBM Bob, to allow for self-hosted deployment in local data centers and fully isolated air-gapped systems. This move is aimed at large corporate and government customers that operate under tight security mandates.
The company's Board of Directors has grown to 14 members with the addition of Frank Baker, co-founder and managing partner of private equity firm Siris Capital. Baker will sit on the board's nominating and governance committee.
IBM shares closed Friday down 1.5% at EUR 197.78 due to concerns over the company's mainframe division and guidance. The stock has been underperforming, down 24% since the start of the year.
